This page exists so you can tell whether anyone paid for what you are reading. The short version is that nobody has.

What changes if that changes

Affiliate income is a normal way for a publication like this one to pay for itself, and we may take it up. If we do, three things happen at once and none of them are optional.

1. This page is rewritten first, in plain language, naming which programs we have joined and which product categories they cover. The sentence above stops being true and stops being printed.
2. Every page carrying a paying link shows a disclosure block above the first such link, before you reach it, not in the footer and not at the bottom of the article.
3. The link itself is marked. Paying links are labeled where they appear, so you can tell a commercial link from a citation without hovering over it.

What does not change is how anything is assessed. Rankings and recommendations follow the criteria published on the page they appear on. A commission cannot buy a position, a recommendation, or a kinder sentence, and a product with no commercial relationship attached is judged against exactly the same criteria as one that pays.

Paid placement and sponsorship

We do not accept payment for coverage, for placement in an article, or for a position in a ranking. No article on this site is sponsored, and no brand has been given approval over, advance sight of, or influence on any article. We do not publish guest posts, syndicated brand content, or press releases.

There is no advertising on GutHealthRanked. The pages ship no client-side JavaScript, set no cookies of their own, and load no third-party scripts, fonts, pixels, or trackers, so these pages build no advertising or analytics profile of you. We do not sell reader data.

Ownership and the publisher's other work

GutHealthRanked is published by Succession Media, which owns the site and funds it. Succession Media also does commercial work for direct-to-consumer brands, some of which sell supplements. That is a conflict worth knowing about on a site like this one, so we would rather you read it here than find it out later.

Succession Media client brands are excluded from rankings and recommendations on this site. They are not eligible for a position in a ranking, favorable or otherwise, and leaving one out is not a judgment on the product. If a client brand is discussed in an article for any other reason, the relationship is named inside that article, above any assessment of the brand, and named on this page, rather than left for you to work out.

Reporting a conflict

If you believe an article reads as though something was bought, or you know of a relationship we have failed to disclose, email editorial@guthealthranked.com with the article and what you think the undisclosed relationship is. We will check it and, if you are right, correct the article and this page under our corrections policy. Reports are read whether or not you give your name.
